“…Girls seemed stupid to me, as a general rule; they just wanted to play with their dolls and learn silly dance moves. But Valentina Recartche was different; in Girondo's words, she knew how to fly. With her, any branch could be transformed into a sword, and a pot or colander into the finest helmet a knight could acquire. And if it was done with pencil and paper, in just a few minutes, she could draw maps of the lands we would have to cross, just as she drew pictures of the monsters we would face.
Her sister, Micaela, was the youngest of us. Under other circumstances, she would have been a normal, dull girl. However, she was the first to get excited about those games we were all part of...”


PROCESS
This illustration caught me during a beautiful "summer," hence its beautiful colors emerging from "winter" (everything in between "winter" because we don't even know what season it is anymore).
